Un joven de 15 años de Turín estaba a punto de morir; llamaron a Don Bosco, pero el santo no llegó a tiempo. Otro sacerdote escuchó la confesión del niño y el niño murió. Cuando Don Bosco regresó a Turín, inmediatamente fue a ver al niño. Cuando le dijeron que el niño había muerto, el santo insistió en que se trataba de "un malentendido".
